Barnett Chapel UMC's Proud History

Barnett Chapel Methodist Church is formally recognized as the oldest African American church in Kerr County, boasting a history that dates back more than 120 years.

In 1896, Jim and Josephine Barnett were instrumental in organizing the first religious services for African Americans in Kerrville.
